When is the best time to get maternity portraits done?

I suggest between 32-36 weeks. If your little one decides to arrive early, we wouldn’t want to miss out on this once in a lifetime portrait opportunity. We also want you to be comfortable during your session, and after 36 weeks, most women are past the point of comfort!

When is the best time to get newborn portraits done?

The best time to capture the true innocence of the newborn stage is during the first 10 days of their lives. During these first 10 days your baby is very sleepy and will allow us to move him or her around so we can create amazing images. Your child will also be less likely to have baby acne, which normally appears around the 3rd week.

How long does it take to receive my finished portraits?

It normally takes about 2 months. Exceptions can be made if you need your portraits in a hurry, just let us know!

What should we wear?

I suggest that you dress in whatever you typically wear on a day to day basis. Try to stay away from crazy patterns as they can be distracting and take away from your family’s natural beauty. Black and white tops and jeans always look great for a very clean and classic look. It is always a good idea to bring more than one outfit!

How far in advance do we need to book?

I would suggest booking as far in advance as possible, to ensure that you receive a time that is most convenient for your family. I am normally booked 2 months in advance for weekdays and up to 4 months in advance for weekends.

How can we book in advance for newborn sessions when we don’t know when the baby will arrive?

I will book a tentative time, based on your due date. This is a flexible session that we will change upon the arrival of your newborn. I ask that you place me on your list of people to call as soon as your little one arrives. I will then do my best to come to you within the next 10 days.
